Vitalik Buterin posted on Farcaster expressing support for Kimi 3.1's deliberate exclusion of high-end offensive cyber capabilities from its training data, believing that distinguishing use cases is superior to distinguishing users. He pointed out that the world needs time to reinforce old code and formalize new code to address potential future cyber attacks. If the initial wave of AI risks is mishandled, it could lead to highly locked models, comprehensive KYC thresholds, and nationality-based access restrictions.
