Cboe Clear Receives SEC Registration to Clear Securities

Cboe Clear U.S. (CCUS) has received a temporary registration from the SEC as a Covered Clearing Agency, allowing it to clear securities in addition to futures and swaps. The debut is expected in the fourth quarter of 2026 with binary options linked to business KPIs. CCUS, already registered with the CFTC as a Derivatives Clearing Organization (DCO), thus expands its operational scope. The registration enables CCUS to also manage the clearing of securities, alongside ongoing operations in derivatives. Cboe plans to list contracts on the Cboe Options Exchange and make them available through Robinhood. In June, CCUS voluntarily adopted enhanced CFTC standards for risk management and operational resilience, aligning with global requirements. Meanwhile, Cboe Clear Europe is expanding its clearing operations in Europe.
