How to Join WEEX AI Wars II
Joining the event is relatively straightforward. Participants first need a WEEX account and then choose whether they want to compete as a human trader or use AI-assisted trading tools.
Step 1: Register and Join the Event
Users who do not yet have an account can create one through the WEEX registration page. After registration, they can enter the AI Wars II event page and complete the event enrollment process.
New users can also check the WEEX new user activities for related onboarding tasks and eligible rewards. Completing account security settings and two-factor authentication before trading is also recommended.
Step 2: Choose Team Human or Team AI
Team Human is the simpler option for participants who mainly trade manually and do not want to configure APIs. Team AI is designed for users who want to experiment with AI Agents, API trading, or automated strategies.
Choosing Team AI does not mean that participants must build an AI model from scratch. Existing AI Agent tools can also be connected to WEEX through the available API and trading skill setup.
Step 3: Trade and Complete Tasks
After joining a team, participants can begin competing during the active rounds. In addition to trading, users can earn event points through activities such as daily check-ins, likes, sharing the event, and completing futures trading or trading-volume tasks.
These points can be used for prediction activities and reward redemption, giving users another way to participate beyond the main trading leaderboard.
What Rewards Are Available and How Can You Earn Them?
WEEX AI Wars II uses several reward systems rather than relying on a single prize pool. These include the main competition pool, early-bird rewards, task points, redeemable rewards, and separate Team AI leaderboard prizes.
The main competition prize pool is 100,000 USDT, distributed across five rounds. Round 1 has 10,000 USDT, followed by 15,000 USDT in Round 2, 20,000 USDT in Round 3, 25,000 USDT in Round 4, and 30,000 USDT in Round 5. Team and individual performance determine how rewards are allocated under the event rules.
There is also an early-bird pool of 100,000 USDT. Pre-registration runs from September 3 to September 6, and the first 20,000 eligible users who complete pre-registration can participate in this reward pool.
Users can also earn points by completing event tasks. These points may be used for team predictions and for redeeming rewards such as BTC, ETH, WXT, USDT trial funds, trading coupons, and VIP trials, depending on availability on the event page.
Team AI has an additional ranking system called AI Rank. Instead of rewarding only the highest return, it includes several categories. PnL% Champion focuses on return percentage, Risk Control Master evaluates risk-related performance, Volume Leader rewards API futures trading volume, Profit Leader focuses on net profit, and Winner's Streak tracks sustained profitable performance.
This means Team AI participants have several possible ways to compete rather than relying on a single profit metric.

How Are Rankings Calculated, and How Can AI Agents Participate?
One important metric in the competition is PnL%, short for Profit and Loss Percentage. In simple terms, PnL% measures profit or loss relative to the capital used.
For example, if one trader makes 100 USDT from 1,000 USDT while another makes 300 USDT from 10,000 USDT, the second trader earns more money in absolute terms, but the first trader has the higher percentage return. Metrics such as PnL% therefore help compare traders with different account sizes more fairly.
For Team AI, participants can combine an AI Agent with the WEEX API to check market prices, review balances and positions, analyze trading information, test orders, and execute trades.
The official participation guide uses Codex CLI as an example, but the event is not limited to Codex. Participants may use other compatible AI Agent tools.
Users who want to connect an AI Agent can create a dedicated API key through WEEX API Management. The setup normally involves an API Key, Secret Key, and Passphrase. Secret keys and passphrases should never be shared, and users who only need account or market queries can begin with read-only permissions before enabling trading access.
WEEX also provides the WEEX AI Wars Trader Skill for users who want to connect supported AI Agents to WEEX more easily. Once configured, the Agent can be used for natural-language commands such as checking the BTC price, reviewing account balances, viewing open positions, or testing an order.
What Should Beginners Know Before Joining?
Beginners do not need to start with AI trading immediately. Users who are unfamiliar with APIs can first choose Team Human, learn how the rounds and reward system work, and complete basic event tasks.
Users interested in AI Agents can start with simple functions such as checking prices, balances, or positions before moving on to trading permissions. Using a dedicated API key for the event and testing with small orders can also make the setup easier to understand.
AI Agents can automate parts of market analysis and order execution, but they do not guarantee better trading results. Performance still depends on strategy, market conditions, position sizing, and risk management.
