Vance: No Dialogue with Iran Until Attacks on Merchant Ships Cease
U.S. Vice President Vance stated at a White House press conference that Iran's gunfire at vessels has led to a rise in gasoline prices. Approximately 15 million barrels of oil pass through the Strait of Hormuz. Vance pointed out that the U.S. is taking measures to pressure Iran into stopping its attacks on merchant ships. He urged Iran to cease this reckless behavior and mentioned that the U.S. has various options in dealing with the Iranian issue. Shipping traffic in the Strait of Hormuz has nearly returned to pre-conflict levels, but the U.S. will not engage in dialogue with Iran unless it stops attacking vessels. Currently, there are no significant military operations underway.
