Sui to Host 'Basecamp 2026' in Singapore, Highlighting Agentic Economy
The 'Sui Basecamp 2026', aimed at the global Sui community, will be held in conjunction with Token2049 at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, from October 7 to 8, as announced on the 1st. This year's program is centered around the agentic economy, featuring instant settlement, autonomous payments, private transactions, stable digital dollars, and post-quantum security.
Sui Basecamp is the flagship annual event of the Sui ecosystem, bringing together those who create, invest in, and envision the future of Sui. Over two days, founders, builders, developers, investors, traders, and industry leaders will gather to unveil new products, engage in deep technical sessions, participate in hands-on demos, and converse with those driving the technology. Key speakers from within and outside the Sui ecosystem will provide insights into future changes and offer a closer look at the infrastructure that will move finance on-chain.
This year, a particularly noteworthy topic is the rise of the agentic economy. The $5 trillion worth of transactions expected to occur in the future will no longer be conducted by humans but by agents. For agentic finance to operate, infrastructure that enables instant payments, proves ownership and authority, and maintains transaction histories as fundamentally private is required.
Key Speakers Leading the Agentic Future
What happens when legends from the macro investment field, the architects of Sui, AI pioneers, game industry trailblazers, and builders creating autonomous economies share the same stage? Here’s a glimpse of some of the lineup for Sui Basecamp.
- Raoul Pal - Co-founder and CEO of Real Vision. A figure who has tracked where capital is headed next, he turned his attention to digital assets early in the traditional macroeconomic field.
- Adeniyi Abiodun - Co-founder and CPO of Mistin Labs. A member of the team that started with Meta's Diem project and built the Sui and autonomous economic infrastructure.
- Kostas Chalkias - Co-founder and Chief Cryptographer of Mistin Labs. He researches the cryptographic foundations on which autonomous systems rely and leads Sui's post-quantum security efforts. He will also conduct speed tests on the main stage.
- Hilmar Veigar Petursson - CEO of Penrose Creations, former CEO of CCP Games. Drawing on over 20 years of experience leading one of the longest-standing player-driven economies in the software industry, he is bringing this on-chain through EVE Frontier.
- Alex Murpharic - Inception Director at Google DeepMind. He is developing groundbreaking ideas at the intersection of frontier AI research and entrepreneurship into new AI ventures.
- Jen Zhu Scott - Co-founder and CEO of Power Dynamics. He is building the cooling and energy storage infrastructure necessary for the expansion of the AI industry.
- Brian Quinterez - Director at Sui Holdings Group, former commissioner of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). An expert in public policy and regulatory frameworks in the cryptocurrency space.
- Richard Socher - Co-founder and CEO of Recursive and You.com. He is at the forefront of AI research and the advancement of intelligent software.
The complete list of speakers for Sui Basecamp 2026 can be found on the official website, with more names to be added in the coming weeks.
Live Speed Test Challenge on the Main Stage
On October 7, Kostas Chalkias, co-founder and Chief Cryptographer of Mistin Labs, will push Sui's performance to its limits through a live public speed test on the main stage. The goal is to surpass the existing record of 6,086,766 transactions per second (TPS) set on July 4 of this year.
Participants can join in real-time from Marina Bay Sands or anywhere in the world. They can submit TPS predictions to compete for prizes of 10,000 SUI for first place, 5,000 SUI for second, and 1,000 SUI for third. Details will be announced via the X account @SuiNetwork.
High throughput demonstrates the network's processing capacity under real load conditions, aligning precisely with the requirements of the agentic economy. This test is designed to replicate those conditions, allowing AI agents and users to execute transactions across games, payments, and chats through programmable tunnels, generating speeds that occur when software trades at machine speed.
To ensure complete transparency, the web3 security firm Certik will serve as the independent auditor for this test. All transactions will be cryptographically recorded and undergo verification and formal re-confirmation procedures after the test concludes, providing mathematically verifiable evidence beyond mere observation.
A celebration event for on-site participants will follow the test.
Experience Sui Basecamp Directly
Sui Basecamp is not just an event that takes place on stage. In the AI Builder Lab, participants can experience the latest AI tools firsthand, engage in sessions led by teams working at the intersection of AI and Sui, and learn how to create AI-based applications and agents. Following this, in the Trading Arena, popular traders will compete live on the Hudi platform, allowing participants to observe their trading processes. Sui Basecamp is designed to focus on active participation for those looking to create something new or experience new technologies.
Sui Basecamp: A Meeting Place for Builders and Capital
Sui Basecamp is designed around the diverse discussions and exchanges that occur when Sui builders gather in one place. This year, individuals creating the agentic finance stack across protocols, wallets, payments, data infrastructure, AI systems, institutions, and applications will come together to address common challenges. Sui Basecamp brings them together for two days.
If you are creating something at the intersection of technology and finance, investing in a future where machine-to-machine transactions become commonplace, or seeking to understand the direction of next-generation economic activities, you can witness these trends firsthand at Sui Basecamp.
Adeniyi Abiodun, co-founder and CPO of Mistin Labs, the developer of Sui, stated, "Economic activity is shifting from a model where humans click the payment button to one where agents continuously trade at machine speed on behalf of people. For this to be possible, intent, authority, and settlement must each be provable on-chain. Sui Basecamp is where all layers of this stack come together, allowing attendees to understand the whole picture rather than just fragments."
Sui Basecamp 2026 will feature sponsors including Alphafly, EVE Frontier, and Wallas at diamond level, One Championship at platinum level, Slush at gold level, and LidoPay at silver level, with Scalap, Aniflow, Merkle Science, and Centio participating at bronze level.
