Stablecoins Fill the Last Gap in the Token Securities Ecosystem
A forecast has emerged that stablecoins will fill the last gap in the payment settlement of token securities. Park Sung-jin, head of the Digital Asset Strategy Department at Korea Investment & Securities, stated at a National Assembly seminar on the 21st that stablecoins will become an essential element of the token securities ecosystem. He explained that while assets will be recorded on-chain once the token securities system is implemented, payments will be processed off-chain, emphasizing the necessity of stablecoins. Park added that the smart contracts of stablecoins will play a crucial role in their activation. Korea Investment & Securities is interested in issuing stablecoins, particularly focusing on their application aspects. He highlighted the relationship between token securities and stablecoins, mentioning that without the introduction of stablecoins, the activation of token securities would be difficult. Currently, the token securities system is starting on a private chain, but it is expected that stablecoins will be issued on a public chain once they are introduced. Park believes that smart contracts will contribute to the activation of stablecoins and hopes that stablecoins will develop through various smart contracts.
