Novig Launches First Brand Ad 'Just Sports' Featuring Star Sydney Sweeney
In the cryptocurrency circle (120btc.CoM): On September 9, Beijing time, the rapidly rising sports prediction platform Novig officially launched its first national brand advertisement titled 'Just Sports'. In this nearly one-minute short film, Hollywood star Sydney Sweeney appears in visually striking light clothing and even nude imagery, cleverly using various sports equipment like footballs, basketballs, and tennis rackets to cover herself. Through multiple English puns, the ad forcefully directs the audience's attention to various 'balls' and the sports events themselves.
The short film opens with Sydney Sweeney directly challenging the audience: "Think you know sports? Prove it to me." The entire narrative is crafted in an extremely straightforward, humorous, and confident manner, stripping away unnecessary visual noise and perfectly refocusing on sports trading.
According to Novig's CEO Jacob Fortinsky, the partnership has a dramatic origin. Sydney Sweeney initially approached the platform as a personal investor, driven by her strong interest in prediction markets; the two sides quickly hit it off, leading to this deep strategic collaboration, with her personally involved in the ad's creative direction and starring as the lead in the first major brand marketing campaign.
Targeting a Vertical Niche
In terms of strategic positioning, Novig has chosen a development path that is distinctly different from comprehensive prediction giants like Kalshi and Polymarket. While competitors are attempting to expand their business scope into political elections, Federal Reserve monetary policy, geopolitical games, and entertainment gossip, Novig firmly adheres to vertical operations, locking all product logic and trading functions tightly within the sports sector.
In terms of compliance, the company successfully passed the stringent review of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) in August this year, officially obtaining a Designated Contract Market (DCM) license. Currently, it is promoting services nationwide within the federally regulated legal framework and strictly enforcing a user access threshold of 21 years and older.
At the core of its business model, Novig has completely overturned the traditional sports betting logic of 'the house always wins'. The platform focuses on peer-to-peer (P2P) matching transactions, allowing traders to directly engage in long and short bets based on the final results of sports events. The official defines its core competitive advantage as: eliminating hidden house cuts (Vig) and never imposing account limits due to long-term player profits.
Backed by Top Venture Capital
Novig's confidence in challenging leading prediction platforms largely stems from its ample capital reserves. In February of this year, the platform announced the completion of a Series B funding round totaling up to $75 million. This round was led by cryptocurrency venture giant Pantera Capital, with follow-on investments from Multicoin Capital, Makers Fund, and Edge Equity, among others. Existing shareholders like Forerunner, NFX, and Perceptive Ventures also continued to increase their stakes. To date, the company's total funding has surpassed $105 million, with this round directly pushing its post-money valuation to $500 million.
Business data also shows strong explosive growth. Officially disclosed data indicates that by 2025, the platform's trading volume will achieve more than tenfold growth, with an annualized total trading amount reaching $4 billion.
In July of this year, Novig made another significant advancement in expanding traditional sports resources by officially signing a long-term strategic agreement with the New York Mets, a team under Major League Baseball (MLB). As the exclusive official prediction market partner of the team, Novig's brand logo will be prominently featured on physical billboards at Citi Field, during event broadcasts, and across digital content matrices.
