Nillion Launches First Phase of Encrypted Markets Dusk on Sepolia Testnet
The decentralized privacy computing network Nillion has launched the first phase, Dusk, of its seven-phase roadmap for "Encrypted Markets," which is now live on the Sepolia testnet. Dusk will be deployed on the Ethereum mainnet and introduces the Covenants mechanism, allowing traders to set conditional trading instructions based on price thresholds or time windows, which are recorded on-chain in encrypted form. The instructions remain sealed and unreadable by external parties until the conditions are met. Once the conditions are fulfilled, Nillion nodes assist in unlocking the instructions and initiating the settlement process. This mechanism operates in a decentralized manner, not relying on a single operator to determine when the instructions are activated. Once published, the instructions are irrevocable, and if the conditions are never triggered, they will automatically expire without being made public. The first version of Dusk supports price thresholds for a limited number of crypto assets and conditions triggered within a maximum of 30 days. End-to-end testing of the sealed stop-loss orders and sealed auction features has been completed. The roadmap indicates that the first batch of Dusk-based applications will be launched on the testnet in mid-September, and by late September, Dusk will be deployed on the Ethereum mainnet and the node network will be initiated.
