Kalshi Traders Predict Over 5,100 AI Data Centers Worldwide by 2027
Kalshi data shows that traders believe there is a 75% probability that the number of AI data centers planned or operational worldwide will exceed 5,100 by 2027, up from 60% two weeks ago. This prediction contract will be verified by the data center tracking platform Data Center Map. Currently, there are over 4,700 operational or planned data centers in the United States, with Virginia leading with over 670, followed by Texas and California with over 537 and 200, respectively. The expansion of AI data centers has sparked opposition from some communities, with residents concerned that the projects may drive up local electricity costs and increase water consumption.
