Hanwha Establishes Hanwha Horizon USA and Integrates LNG Business in the U.S.
Hanwha Aerospace has established Hanwha Horizon USA in the United States and integrated its global liquefied natural gas (LNG) business. This organization will be responsible for LNG procurement, trading, and logistics optimization. Hanwha Horizon USA will serve as the control tower for the LNG business, with James Sagar also serving as its representative. Hanwha plans to enhance local supply chain responsiveness by connecting LNG procurement with shipping and power generation demand. Hanwha Horizon USA will supply fuel to the Hanwha Energy Yeosu LNG power plant, which is set to begin commercial operations in 2029, and will promote LNG trading in global markets, including Asia, in the medium to long term. The establishment of this corporation is based on the LNG procurement foundation secured by Hanwha in the U.S., and a contract has been signed with Venture Global to supply 1.5 million tons of U.S. LNG annually for 20 years starting in 2030. Hanwha is also building a public-private partnership network and signed a memorandum of understanding in August 2025 to develop a global LNG value chain. Hanwha's LNG business has transitioned from the contract acquisition phase to the operational organization establishment phase, and the actual scope of supply expansion and revenue structure will be confirmed based on the commercial operation of the Yeosu LNG power plant and the fulfillment of long-term contracts.
