Google Clarifies Antigravity Account Ban Does Not Affect Google Accounts
Google has modified the terms of service for Antigravity, explicitly stating that accessing Antigravity OAuth through third-party tools like OpenClaw is still a violation. However, the ban resulting from this violation is limited to Antigravity and/or Gemini CLI accounts, and does not extend to the entire Google account. The previous vague wording led to misunderstandings, with well-known developers Theo Browne and Gergely Orosz warning that using a Gemini subscription in third-party tools could result in the entire Google account being banned. Antigravity head Varun Mohan subsequently responded that this claim was inaccurate and promised to revise the terms. The new terms have clarified the scope of penalties, but the core restrictions remain unchanged; Google's FAQ still prohibits the use of third-party tools like Claude Code, OpenClaw, and OpenCode to log into Antigravity. The official recommendation is to use Vertex AI or AI Studio API Key for third-party calls. In February of this year, Google had previously banned users on a large scale for similar issues, later resetting the initial bans and adding an appeals process.
