Cambodia Freezes Nearly $1 Billion in Prince Group Assets, 198 Associated Companies Exposed
The Cambodian court has frozen nearly $1 billion in assets related to the Prince Group case, involving buildings, casinos, and thousands of real estate properties. Investigations reveal that there are as many as 198 associated companies, with 98 located in Cambodia and 100 distributed overseas. The freezing of assets does not mean formal confiscation; the Cambodian authorities are exploring legal management and disposal methods, including state management or applying for final confiscation, with the final outcome to be decided by the court. Cambodian Minister of State Chhay Than stated that the investigation has been ongoing for months, and law enforcement suspects that some associated companies' buildings and casinos are used for online fraud activities. Currently, the court has issued arrest warrants for 32 individuals involved in the case, and another 4 are under judicial supervision.
